The STGW Duo 4 is a system based on A-steel protection planks, such as have proved their usefulness the world over. They are familiar to every driver and for that reason are readily recognisable when they come into view. The steel crash barrier consists of one Type A profile series protection plank and has an element length of 16 metres. These elements are bolted together using only a master screw. The steel crash barrier complies with the requirements of DIN EN 1317 Part 1 and Part 2 in reference to the collision experiments TB 21 and TB 22, and thus the containment levels of T1 and T2. More precise details can be found in the table below.
The advantages of the system are, in addition to the high daily installation output of up to 3,000 metres, the high degree of clearance above the road surface (no aquaplaning) and the low weight (low stress to the road surface).
